Collaboration
Business
Although not formally identified and listed for the Golden & Area A community, many local for profit organizations provide regular support to local non profit organizations. Most of the support comes as cash or goods in lieu of cash donations. However, in light of the possible tactics listed above, a whole new set of mutually beneficial collaboration and support efficiency opportunities may exist.
Throughout this project TELUS had been trying to figure out how they can make the biggest, sustainable impact on the non profit sector in BC and across Canada. Others are trying to do the same to fulfill their corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy and show that they are helping the communities in which they operate.
While this has not been explored locally yet, in other communities the business sector has stepped up through the following:
1. Co-location
2. Shared Services
3. Donations of goods/services in lieu of cash
A prerequisite for increased corporate support is a well-thought out plan which will create a win-win-win for the business, non profit and community. At its conclusion, this project should provide a map for local businesses to increase their efficiency and impact in the Golden & Area A community.
