Engagement
Golden has a varied history of community engagement with great results through such projects like the 2008 Official Community Plan (OCP) and more recently the Vital Signs indicator report project and a less stellar turnout from the 2011 municipal elections.
While it is easier than ever to get groups' and individuals' message to a great number of local residents, it is harder to get their attention. That’s why non profits must coordinate community consultation together to minimize the directions that local residents are simultaneously being pulled.

Community Conversations
Through the end of 2013 and into 2014, Mayor Christina Benty is hosting a series of lunch-time "Community Conversations" meetings at the Golden Civic Centre in the hopes of sharing what the Town of Golden can offer and what community's constituents need to be engaged in civic affairs.
